Juliet by Anne Fortier. This was a gift from the Nisse on Nisse Night and is great so far! It makes me want to return to Siena.

Well, new year, a new resolution to blog. Wonder if I'll make it longer than last year???
1/1/11 seems like a good time to think about life, what's important, what's fun, what needs attention. I have some lofty goals for 2011 but none that have been condensed down enough to be shared. They include something to do with exercise, kindness, homemaking, photography, reading, thankfulness, and growth. Yeah, that pretty much covers it!
So, stay tuned - and yes, I do realize I'm talking to myself - and see what happens!
Why I'm trying to do this, I don't know. But here goes, anyway.
Finished:
Deal Breaker by Harlan Coben
Drop Shot by Harlan Coben
The Things We Do For Love by Kristin Hannah
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier - AMAZING WONDERFUL BOOK!
The Rule of Murder by Louise Penney - another good Gamache book
So that's 10 in 2010.
While this was a long weekend, I spent alot of time working. But that's OK. I also got some downtime and some sports time.
Finished Welcome to the Great Mysterious by Lorna Landvik. I forgot how easy she is to read. That's 5 in 2010.
Tyler went to the Sports Institute today and while he was working out, I managed to work out, too! Nothing earth shattering but about 2.5 miles of walking. It's a start.
Made dinner but it wasn't a family dinner. I made a cauliflower pasta sauce which was not bad! I've got leftovers for several lunches.
Finished Hold Tight by Harlan Coben. I bought it out of desperation at BN - trying not to buy a new release, I found this on the discount table for $5.98. And it was pretty darn good. I think the cover of the book was incredibly misleading but luckily I didn't read that until I was almost finished. So that makes 4 in 2010.
And I am almost finished with a 2-page layout of my collage prints from vacation. This layout will go in the regular scrapbook as opposed to the vacation album.
So good progress on reading and scrapbooking but shockingly - no updates on the exercise category!
I'm still in my jammies but it's been a somewhat productive day! After sleeping until 10:00 - guess I needed that! - I have puttered around the house, done laundry, tried to take pictures to use on christmas cards next year, finished a book, and - the big accomplishment - finished the 2009 vacation scrapbook!
Finished Blood Lure by Nevada Barr - that makes 3 in 2010. Will probably not read anymore of her for a while. That Anna Pigeon wears me out.
Finished 10 pages in the 2009 camping scrapbook. Unfortunately, it is a little bulky so the cover doesn't lay flat...may need to rebind it someday. It was fun to relive the adventure! And since Mark has already made plans for 2010, fun to look ahead, too!
Today was a strange one. I woke up not feeling great and we had about 5" of snow overnight. Mark was in Bloomington, so for some unknown reason, I thought I'd shovel the driveway. It almost killed me. So I recover and make my way in to the office. Then at 11:30, they decide to close school early. So I head out to pick the boys up. I've been off-kilter ever since. But...
the boys and I had a home-cooked dinner! Spaghetti, cheese bread, oranges, and pecan pie. The conversation centered around music lessons - particularly, Tyler wanting to take drum lessons.
Scrapbook Pages completed last night:
5 more for the 2009 summer vacation album.
Well, the Real World returns. Having two weeks off (with some half days of work scattered in there) has been so wonderful. I had days by myself (some productive, some lazy), holiday celebrations with family, and great times with friends. But, alas, work and school and normality returns at 6:30 am tomorrow.
Finished another book. Winter Study by Nevada Barr. That makes 2 in 2010.
Did some de-cluttering in the kitchen yesterday. One junk drawer and 2 junk baskets. Found 67 unsharpened pencils and lord knows how many pens that didn't work. You can't see the de-cluttering but I know it's there!
